Creative Connections
When community member Brendan noticed other HOPE House community members sitting around alone or with friends with not much to do, he saw the opportunity to engage people with something that he has found so personally beneficial for himself; art. Brendan started bringing in his art supplies and offering their use to his peers, which in turn has resulted in the successful weekly group.
Community members are invited to come and enjoy snacks provided by the café while chatting and working on their own projects or collaborative art pieces. Coloring books, mandalas, and blank paper, plus pencil crayons and markers are always available.
The group welcomes any participants and emphasizes that art is personal and that there is no “good” or “bad” art. You can expect to enjoy an environment that lacks judgment, encourages creative expression and diversity, and provides a space that enhances your social wellbeing.
Creative Connections occurs Mondays and Wednesdays from 1pm – 3:30pm.
