HOPE Stylin’ Hair Salon
“Good hair makes me feel like I can rule the world.”
The brand new HOPE Stylin’ Hair Salon is now open!

Last year we had the opportunity to share a HOPE House community members story. Pam and I recently had the opportunity to sit and chat again.
When I first met Pam, I knew right away that this lady had an amazing soul and a passion unlike anyone else. With a smile on her face, and showing her loud personality she shouts, “I am here, and I want you to feel amazing being you!”. If you are unfamiliar with who Pam is; she is our resident hair stylist, and founder of the HOPE House hair salon. What started as an observation that community members need more than just a fresh set of clothes and a new haircut to really build on self confidence, has grown into a regularly offered service here at HOPE House.
Back in October 2019, Valentini’s Hair Design, with the help of Heather from RBC Dominion Securities, organized the HOPE House Hair Affair. This fundraising event was designed to raise funds to allow for a brand-new hair salon space – not just for Pam, but also for the community members. As Pam said, this space will “enable my customers to have more dignity and self-respect.”
We are thrilled to announce that after months of renovations that the brand-new HOPE Stylin’ Hair Salon is open for business! Fitted with a brand new chair, new sink, new trolley and new products – Pam has really started to make the space her own and we can’t wait for the community members to experience all this salon and the amazing stylist has to offer.
In closing, when we asked Pam how she felt about the salon being built because people knew and resonated with the story of her son’s suicide she shares, she had this to say:
“I can’t believe it; I want to pinch myself. I am so amazed that my story of this woman from Echo Bay, population 500, got such an honour”
